Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about LabelDex.
Is Pro membership unlimited uploads?
No. The Free plan includes 2 demo-pool submissions per month. The Pro plan ($9.99/mo) bumps that to 30 submissions per month and unlocks additional features. Demo-pool submissions expire after 90 days to keep the pool fresh.
How does the demo pool work?
The demo pool is a blind drop. You upload a track and it goes into a shared pool where all matched labels can browse and discover it. Labels see the track's waveform, genre tags, and metadata — but they don't see your identity until they choose to engage. Labels can shortlist, accept, or reject tracks from the pool.
How do direct submissions work?
A direct submission lets you pick one specific label and send them a track. The label receives a private link to your track where they can listen, see the waveform, and take action (shortlist, accept, or reject). It's a more targeted approach than the demo pool — use it when you know exactly which label you want to reach.
Do labels pay to use LabelDex?
No. LabelDex is free for labels. Labels can browse the demo pool, receive direct submissions, and manage their profile at no cost. LabelDex is funded by artist subscriptions (Free and Pro plans).
How are labels vetted?
LabelDex features 500+ curated electronic music labels. Each label is manually reviewed before being added to the directory. We track response times and activity so you can see which labels are actively listening and engaging — and which ones tend to go quiet.
What genres does LabelDex cover?
LabelDex focuses on electronic music — house, techno, drum & bass, dubstep, trance, ambient, garage, bass, and everything in between. Whether you make deep house, tech house, minimal, or peak-time bangers, you'll find labels that match your sound.
Can I delete my account?
Yes. You can request account deletion at any time by emailing ethan@label-dex.com. We'll remove your account and associated data within a reasonable period. You can also cancel a Pro subscription anytime through the billing portal — access continues until the end of the paid period.
How do I get labels to notice my tracks?
Here are a few tips:
- Tag your genres accurately — our genre matching connects your track to labels that sign that sound.
- Use both the demo pool and direct submissions — the pool gets you broad exposure, while direct submissions let you target labels you already love.
- Keep your profile complete — a good bio, photo, and social links help labels learn more about you.
- Check label activity — we track response times, so focus on labels that are actively engaging with submissions.
